ESPN: Fantasy Baseball w/Eric Karabell - SportsNation
Dan (DC): Has Josh Hamilton made himself a top ten pick next season?Eric Karabell: (11:02 AM ET ) I don't think that's assured, and even if Hamilton keeps up with his RBI per game pace, I don't think I would go top 10. For one, he's an outfielder. The only OF I had top 10 for this year was Matt Holliday. I think Hamilton is a mid-second rounder, kind of how I felt about Prince Fielder for this season.

I’d like to see Hamilton play 150 games first, and, even then, I may not take him in the top 10.

Take this advice with a grain of salt
Eric very rarely gives good advice in my opinion. OF is one of the shallowest positions in terms of depth this year in fantasy. Obviously, any answer to the question has to be caveated with “if he keeps up the same pace for the rest of the year.” Obviously, if he does, then yes, I firmly believe he is a top ten pick at a shallow position. He carries the injury risk with him, but look where he is playing and realize that he has only has a season of major league ball under his belt at this point.
