NFL Draft Fantasy Fallout - Dexter Jackson, Earl Bennett

Most football fans don’t remember (or never knew) the name Dexter Jackson (58^th overall).  He was that speedy receiver for Appalachian State that couldn’t be stopped when they chewed up Michigan in the big upset last season.  Ohhh right.  That guy!

Yeah, that guy. Now he’s a wide receiver on the Buccaneers, which is unfortunate because that Texas polygamy cult had fewer people than Tampa Bay’s roster.  Jackson may catch on as a punt returner but it will be tough for him to find any playing time this season.  Then again, considering how old Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard are, it’s not impossible.  Keep Jackson in the back of your mind during the season.

Unlike Jackson, Earl Bennett (70^th overall) is in a much better position on the Bears.  The Bears don’t have many wide receivers on their roster at all, and the top two guys right now are Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd.  No, seriously, those are the Bears’ top two receivers.  Given that, it’s not hard to see how Bennett gets some playing time this season.  There’s still a quarterback problem, but Bennett has the potential to be worth a spot on your fantasy roster this season.  Keep an eye on how he progresses at camp.
