Rich Hill

10-team mixed H2H league and I'm in a little bit of trouble because my pitching staff apparently wanted to get sent to the minors.  About 2 weeks ago I traded Dan Haren for a struggling Big Papi because I thought my pitching was strong.  Now I'm left with this and don't know how to proceed:

SP: Peavy, Webb, Jurrjens, R. Hill, Liriano
RP: Putz, Capps, Sherrill, CJ Wilson

(Bench spots occupied by Hawpe, Longoria, and Theriot until ARod gets back from the DL, then add Zimmerman to that list)

I guess my question is how long I should hold onto the likes of Liriano and Hill in a shallow mixed league and roll with 3 starters?  Some of the names available are: Lilly, Blanton, Francis, Kiroda, Gorzy, and basically all MR of the Broxton variety.

Hill
I have a similar probelm in a couple leagues.  I just can't get past the fear Hill gets his act back together and becomes the 180K pitcher I thought he'd be.

Hill
Yeah, I honestly can't believe he got sent down.  I don't know what Crazy Lou is thinking, considering Marquis walked 3 on in the 2nd last night and was only saved by Derek Lee's gold glove on a shot to first.  To say that these clowns have better stuff than Rich Hill is crazytalk.  Maybe he'll get a visit from Grienke or Ankiel (post-meltdown) and figure out how to get his head on straight.  Rolling out 3 starters in H2H is scary, since I know upfront I'm losing Wins and K's.

10-team
FWIW, on his daily ESPN podcast, Matthew Berry advised to drop Hill in a 10-team mixed league.  I have a hard time agreeing unless there is an obvious better option in the pool because some team will have the space to add Hill once you drop him.

If/when hill gets back to his 2007 form, that team will have a stud SP, and you'd have, who?  Jeremy Guthrie?

thoughts
I think Liriano won't approach his previous brilliance until the 2nd half.  Typical TJ recovery timeframe for the control to be back.
Hill will be back.  He's been off on control before (rookie year) and it's likely just an adjustment away from being back in form.
It's only May, so be patient.

Trade?
Was just offered Matt Cain for Matt Capps.  Think I can roll with Putz, Sherrill, and CJ Wilson as relievers and stay competitive?  (Available on waivers are speculative save guys such as Accardo, Torres, Mota, Broxton, Qualls...)

Cain for Capps
I'd do it.  Three closers is enough to remain within striking distance of the top of the category and I wouldn't be surprised to see Salomon Torres getting Saves very soon.
