How's My Draft Look? (MLB.com's 2008 Fantasy Game)
MLB.com is running a fantasy baseball game with a grand prize of $10,000 for the winner. It's a H2H points league with pitching staffs instead of single pitchers. You can enter up to 5 teams. Here's a link to the Official rules and scoring. The game also has options for private leagues and with or without trades. If you enable trades though you are not eligible for prizes.
I've never played in a H2H points league before or played in one that used pitching staffs. So I'm looking for any advice to keep in mind when drafting or any adjustments I might need to make to this particular team. I did my first draft today and here's the team I ended up with.
Round Player
1 Prince Fielder (1B, MIL)
2 Troy Tulowitzki (SS, COL)
3 Carlos Lee (OF, HOU)
4 Brian McCann (C, ATL)
5 Chris Young (OF, ARI)
6 Boston Red Sox (P, BOS)
7 Jeff Francoeur (OF, ATL)
8 Delmon Young (OF, MIN) (Bench)
9 Aaron Hill (2B, TOR)
10 Milwaukee Brewers (P, MIL) (Bench)
11 Edwin Encarnacion (3B, CIN)
12 Placido Polanco (2B, DET) (Bench)
13 Evan Longoria (3B, TB) (Bench)
14 Tadahito Iguchi (2B, SD) (Bench)
15 Ryan Theriot (2B, SS, CHC) (Bench)
I picked the Red Sox pitching staff because they had the highest rated staff by a decent amount and I'm a fan of them. I ended up ignoring 2B and 3B a little bit when I was drafting. Not really by design, just as the draft went I didn't feel like I was getting good value at the spots. I ended up grabbing back ups at both spots. Not sure why I grabbed Mil pitching staff. Wanted a back up pitching staff and they were the only decent one left.
I feel like I really only busted one pick. The 14th round when I drafted Iguchi. (In my defense I wasn't paying close enough attention and didn't realize it had come back around to my turn and I just grabbed whomever). I'm going to drop him today and probably try and pick up another outfielder. Maybe Adam Jones or someone else for depth.
So please, any advice or comments are welcome.
There was only 1 other person drafting live. So the draft ended up only taking about 45 minutes. Maybe less.

I like the selections of the Red Sox and Brewers staffs.
No idea how such a format will play out, though. I sense pitching staffs will be amongst the most valuable in the points format, but not quite sure given this is the first time I have seen this format.

Pitching Staffs
I'm thinking maybe I should have drafted the SD Padres instead of the Sox. Peavy and Young look like the better bet right now. Not sure if they have adjusted their rankings though. Seems like the Mets and Mariners pitching staffs might be a little undervalued. Not accounting for the trades of Santana and Bedard yet maybe?
One other question I had is position scarcity something to worry about more or less in a H2H league?

In this format
Why take a 2nd OF early when you can grab Robinson Cano or Russ Martin etc.

Correct Info?
Unless maybe it's filled up already. But then wouldn't it say league full instead? Weird.

As a matter of fact the whole point of this site is fantasy sports. So where the hell else would I be posting this on the SB network? I'm sorry my post pushed your oh so fantasy relevant you-tube video down a spot.
