Yesterday a prominent agent told me that the only reason that Angels owner Arte Moreno was so publicly stating his affection for and interest in Manny Ramirez was to tweak his neighbor, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt. The agent said Moreno did not like McCourt much, and saw this as a way to unnerve McCourt, whose team does want to re-sign Ramirez.
