MLB Trade Rumors: Oakland A's Acquire Matt Holliday
Sports Illustrated is reporting it. No players mentioned at this time, but I suspect the A's no longer have a glut of Travis Buck-esque outfielders, and 2B Eric Patterson needn't worry about Mark Ellis' contract extension.
[UPDATE] From Ken Rosenthal:
Over the weekend, the teams discussed A's outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, left-hander Greg Smith and reliever Huston Street, according to one source, but it is not known if any or all of those players will be included in the package for Holliday.

Guessing
The offer will likely be more attractive than the one floated with the Cardinals – Ryan Ludwick, Skip Schumaker and Mitchell Boggs. I figure O’Dowd tried to play the Cards and A’s against each other and the Cards pulled out.

Tim Brown of Yahoo!
Confirms Rosenthal’s report of CGonz, Smith and Street. Woo-hoo for Brad Ziegler and Joey Devine owners.

This trade
is killing my UBA team…..if Street is involved. There goes Corpas’ chance at closing. What a waste.
Someone else reported Brett Anderson may be invoved in the deal also….sounds like alot of moving parts.
Also read that the A’s are interested in Furcal…..if so….me will have lots to spend at UBA draft.

Don't know
The Rockies had been looking for a right-handed OF to platoon with lefty Seth Smith, but Gonzalez hits lefty too. Can Gonzalez play CF in Coors?
