Jorge Posada

I have Jorge Posada at $18 for 2007 & 2008 in an AL-only 12-team keeper league.  With 23 HR, 93 RBi and a .374 OBP, I believe he is well worth the money.  However, I have had multiple teams either tell me he is washed-up or make trade offers that effectively say the same thing.

What am I missing?  I know Posada suffers in mixed leagues because of the influx a quality fantasy catchers in the NL, but, in an AL-only?

Hmmm
The obvious question is what are you getting? Or, looking to get. I offered Nelson Cruz, but the upside got the better of me. 20/20 OF's go for at least Posada money. You're talkin' Johnny Damon and Grady Sizemore style statistics. Cruz would never fetch their salaries based solely on the uncertainty of his future. But, certainly very valued should he deliver!

Steals is quickly becoming the new saves in our league. With the top guys (Figgins $41, Podsednik $35, Crawford WHOPPING $50) demanding big salaries, scrapping a few steals with power is worth a lot.

Cruz at $8, even if he isn't guaranteed a job, is worth holding than trading for Posada. Not only that in the deal also flies Durbin/Crain/League. Not a lot there, but shouldn't be dealt for free.

Nice issue
Is Posada worth more than a back-up OF in Texas?

Cruz
I'm not sure nelson Cruz should be preventing anyone from acquiring Jorge esp in an AL-only league.

There are just too many OF in Texas right now and Cruz' .236 AVg is not distinguishable.

Cruz
Here is his link at the baseballcube.com.

I am less impressed than I used to be.

This is a no brainer......
Posada in the McMahon Rotisserie League at $18 defintiely worth a lot more than a Nelson Cruz man crush. Not only is Kenny Lofton reportedly signing in TX, but there is also the names Guzman and Botts that further add to the quagmire. With Rod Barajas and Jason Varitek the only starting Cs going to be available in the draft, the certainty of a Posada is worth every one of those $18.

Additionally, the Durbin/Crain/League leads me to believe this owner feels the same way you do...throwing more garbage onto the pile to make it seem sweeter.....NO WAY!
